Welcome to Gurukul at Shibdih
To reach Gurukul at Shibdih, take a bus from Purulia heading towards Dhanbad, Tata, Bokaro, Ranchi or Jhalda and get off at Belkuri—popularly known as Sadhu Ashram. From there, a right turn leads to a straight road that crosses a railway track into Shibdih village and a short turn further ahead brings you to the school.
Locate Our Gurukul at Shibdih
Dyut established this Gurukul in 2024 at the outskirts of Shibdih village, approximately 12 km from Purulia town. Situated internally within Shibdih Primary School, this Gurukul has quickly become a hub of hope and learning for the 65 local children who attend regularly.

Shubhankar Prasad
Shubhankar Prasad began his journey with Gurukul Education at Shibdih Primary School, located in the district of Purulia. He holds an M.A. in Education along with a B.Ed. degree and is a key figure in both academic and extracurricular development at the school. He teaches core subjects such as Bengali and Mathematics, and also leads exercise sessions, promoting a balanced approach to education. Calm and composed by nature, Shubhankar Sir is known for his strong analytical skills, which help him understand and address the individual needs of students with care and insight.
Lakhikanta Kuiri
Lakhikanta Kuiri has been a dedicated member of the Gurukul School of Shibdih since 2024. He is a highly experienced and knowledgeable educator, holding dual M.A. degrees—one in Geography and the other in Education. His subject expertise spans across Mathematics, Bengali, English, and Environmental Science. Known for his strict yet disciplined teaching style, Mr. Kuiri’s core philosophy revolves around understanding each student’s learning capabilities and helping them showcase their talents confidently in front of the class. His teaching approach not only nurtures academic growth but also empowers students to believe in their own potential. Beyond academics, he plays a vital role in extracurricular development, guiding students in recitation, dramatics, music, and other cultural activities. His enthusiastic and motivational presence significantly enriches the school environment.
